STE-Energy will deal directly with homeowners and businesses. There are several advantages to this approach which are:
- the homeowner and business would not be affected by blackouts and power outages
- the profit for the Solar Program is used to pay for the construction of each Rail Line
- the Solar Program will be owned by STE-Energy and will stay with the home and/or business
- the 20 solar panels is estimated to generate 16,577 kilowatt-hours of electricity
which is more than an average single-family uses in a typical year (11,300 kilowatt-hours)
- this creates a reliable and sustainable funding source that does not involve any governmental funds
- this business model can and will be used on other corridors around the state
- the current business model is to purchase electricity from remote locations and build
expensive transmission lines to deliver the power to the grid
The approach that will be used is to secure a power purchase agreement from each homeowner or business. Once we reach approximately 5,000 homes and businesses, a bond will be issued and installation will be begin. It is estimated that it will take 1 to 5 years to secure the number of homes and businesses need to fund the rail project. This time could be shorten if we get more business to join the Solar Program. The income from these bond programs will be placed in a Reserve Fund. These funds will be used to finalize the alignment, select the location of the rail stations, secure the right-of-way needed for the rail project and begin preparing the final construction plans.
The only this that is needed is individual homeowners and businesses changing who they purchase their power from. Our slogan if the program.
THE POWER OF ONE!
